12659 S Ridgeland Ave, Palos Heights, IL 60463 - The scenario: my father, an 84 y/o veteran of the Korean war Marine Corp Sgt stopped in this location and purchase a MoneyPak card. He asked me to call the store the evening before he planned on stopping to verify the details. I spoke to "MIke" when he professionally explained the details of purchase: Must be cash and there will be a $5.95 fee to load the card. I called and relayed these details to my father, however upon his arrival he was met by "Sally" claimed to be "manger that day" and then laughed. He asked for a MoneyPak card from "Sally" when she went on to say " what is that??" After my father explained I called in the prior evening for details. Sally than proceeded to RANT to my father how he was being scammed by his own son. That these cards are used for scams! My father then replied "This is for my son! he wouldn't scam me!!??" She proceeded to say this 6-10 times!! repeating! your son is scamming you!! My father was so shaken and disturbed by a Walgreens employee "Sally" telling him with CONVICTION that his son his ripping him off he almost got into an accident! When he arrived home to tell me about his horrific experience I Immediately called Sally, store manager?? Where she acknowledged she told my father all those scam conspiracy theories as if she was Alex Jones or something! I told her i was his son and I'd like her to call my father back and apologize for treating him so poorly and making him feel like when he left his MoneyPak was gonna be scammed by his own son?? She then accused me of SCAMMING MY OWN FATHER more than 6 times!!! She agreed to call him and said she would handle the situation when he arrived and apologize for almost giving an 84 y/o veteran a heart attack because she doesn't know her own products and likes spreading conspiracy theories! This sounds like the end of this nightmare right?? Oh nooo! It only gets worse when he returns to ask for "Sally" (Manager?) she is nowhere to be found! And no apologies either! In fact, he is met by "Toni" in camera dept (Will update to correct name soon, but it was similar) he asked for "Sally" he is told "she is not available". My father asks for the MoneyPak card. It starts all over again!!! My father states that I called in about card last night and spoke to Mike about it.. to which she rudely replies... " Oh, he didn't call here last night!" My father replies "why would my own son lie to me??" "Toni - camera dept 4-18-17 day shift" replies and im quoting... "thats how people from jail call to get money..." OMG! Not only has she "Toni" now insinuated that I was a liar and didn't call the prior night for details on product from "Mike" but that I was a prisoner in jail trying to scam my own father for money!!! I could have sent him to Walmart for this kind of service!! As of 4-18-2017 8pm I have reported this issue to "Lisa" who told me she was the manger on 4-18 evening but when she called my father 5 mins later and he asked her if she was manger and she responded "no" but the store manager will contact you tomorrow, BTW when I called "Lisa" to report the issue she had absolutely no knowledge of "MoneyPak" as well and claimed she didn't have them??? I will update this review as Walgreens replies with a solution. We have both used this service to transfer funds to each other because we live in different states. This is unbelievable and unacceptable! My 84 y/o father has been very shaken by this event! He has been a customer of Walgreens for decades! I sent him to walgreens to avoid the Walmart experience, but he got it anyway...
